Yamaha National Band Championships - 2014

Brisbane 17-21 April

The 2014 Yamaha National Band Championships to be held in Brisbane will welcome 78 brass and concert bands and 378 solo and ensemble competitors from Japan, Hong Kong and nationally.

Don't miss the spectacular Parade of Bands event - 47 brass and concert bands marching through the CBD of Brisbane.  The combination of colour, big sounds and precision marching makes this contest event one not to be missed. Bands are adjudicated on music, marching and entertainment value.

The Parade is on Saturday 19 April commencing at 8:30am and will proceed from George Street (adjacent to the City Mall) , turn right into Adelaide Street and finish at King George Square.  Click on this link for the full program and draw for the Parade of Bands.

We also take much pleasure in welcoming Dr Robert Childs (UK) who will be enjoying the music performances and adjudicating some solo events on Monday 21 April.

The full schedule of events covering all five days of the championships is now available by clicking on the Schedule link in the Main Menu.

Results Announcement Times are available for both Band Events and Solo/Ensemble Events. These can be found under the Schedule link in the Main Menu.

Please be aware that these times are approximate guides only and may alter slightly due to withdrawals.

Live Streaming

The 2014 Yamaha National Band Championships will be live streamed from Friday 18 April.  Both McElligott Theatre and ERPAC will be covered as well as the Parade of Bands on Saturday 19 April.

Log on to www.brassbanned.com for instructions on how to set up your live stream.

Due to the unavailability of the Boosey & Hawkes edition of the Open Cornet set test "Pandora" by Damare, the Music Advisory Board have made a decision to allow the Molenaar published version to be played as well. The adjudicator will have access to both publications of the score.
